Remove air conditioning compressor
CAUTION:
Refrigerant circuit under high pressure.

- Note and follow safety instructions on containers.
- Avoid contact with refrigerant; wear safety goggles and hand protection.

Preliminary work
- Suction the AIR CONDITIONING .
- Remove the front UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Remove the ACOUSTIC COVER .
- Remove the top right and left engine compartment COVER .
- Remove front CROSS CONNECTION .
- Remove the left and right FRONT-END STRUT .
- Remove the rear left and right engine compartment COVER PANEL .
- Remove the hood gasket left and right STAND .
- Remove the rear top CROSS CONNECTION .
- Remove the THROTTLE BODY .
- Remove the FAN COWL .
- Remove the alternator DRIVE BELT .
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
External damage to air conditioning compressor.
Excessive force applied during removal will result in damage to the air conditioning compressor.

- Remove the air conditioning compressor without damaging it and without applying external force.
- Avoid impacts/knocks to plastic belt pulley (caused by tools, contact with base).
- Return faulty air conditioning compressors in their original packaging only.
NOTE:
TECHNICAL INFORMATION
If mechanical failure of the air conditioning compressor occurs resulting in chips entering the refrigerant circuit, replace the following parts: air conditioning compressor, air conditioning condenser with desiccant insert, line to air conditioning condenser and refrigerant oil.
If mechanical failure of the air conditioning compressor occurs resulting in chips entering the refrigerant circuit, replace the following parts: air conditioning compressor, air conditioning condenser with desiccant insert, line to air conditioning condenser and refrigerant oil.

Residual pressure in the heating and air conditioning system.

- Wear safety goggles and protective gloves when disconnecting the refrigerant line.
- Close the refrigerant lines with seal plugs.

- Remove the air conditioning compressor without damaging it and without applying external force.

- Adhere to the utmost cleanliness.
- Protect components from contamination e.g. by covering.
- Close off line connections with seal plugs.
- Loosen the screws (1) on the air conditioning compressor (2).
- Remove air conditioning compressor (2) and slide forwards slightly.
- Push coolant hose (1) slightly to the side.
- Unlock and disconnect connector (1).NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Secure component against falling. - Loosen the screws (2) and remove the refrigerant lines.
- Remove the air conditioning compressor (1) towards the top and front.
