Removing the spindle drive
CAUTION:
Shutting hood or trunk lid.

- Support hood/trunk lid in fully open position with the aid of a suitable device.
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the spindle drive.
If the trunk lid is not opened completely, the spindle drive may be damaged.

- Remove and install the spindle drive only when the Trunk lid is open to the maximum extent.

- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.
Preliminary work
- Remove the interior rearview mirror COVERS .
- Remove the interior REARVIEW MIRROR .
- Remove right hands-free MICROPHONE .
- Remove the ROOF FUNCTION CENTER (FZD).
- Remove SUN VISOR .
- Remove the sun visor counter SUPPORT .
- Remove the front left or right vanity MIRROR LIGHT .
- Remove a-pillar TRIM PANEL .
- Install the left or right HOLDER .
- Remove the b-pillar TRIM PANEL upwards.
- Remove rear interior ROOF LIGHT .
- Remove c-pillar TRIM PANEL .
- Remove the d-pillar TRIM PANEL .
- Lower the left or right headlining HEADLINING .
- Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1).
- Observe disassembly sequence:
- Use a screwdriver to push the clamp in the direction of the groove.
- Lift off the ball socket from the ball hub.
- Push back the clamp.
- Detach the ball socket from the ball hub.
- Remove spindle drive (2).
