- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

The plug connections of the head unit must not be disconnected if the battery is still connected.

Damage to the instrument cluster (KOMBI) or the head unit
A ground offset can occur when releasing and connecting the cables. This can generate currents that render the instrument cluster (KOMBI) or the head unit unusable.- When releasing: First release the APIX data cable (blue).
- When connecting: Connect the APIX data cable (blue) last.
- Unlock and disconnect all the connectors in the marked area on the head unit (1) in the correct disassembly sequence.
- Unlock the detent (1) and remove the cable clip (2).
- Unlock and disconnect connector (3).
- Remove head unit (4).
