Installing the airbag control unit

- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- Leave the electrical components in their original packaging until they are being installed. Only use the original packaging for returning the product. Always package removed components straight away.
- Read and comply with user information on using the associated special tool 12 7 060.
- Only tap the housings of electrical components. Do not tap pins or multi-pin connectors directly.
- Wear electrically conductive clothing and antistatic shoes (with ESD symbol).

- Position the airbag control unit (3) correctly.
- Tighten the nuts (2).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Airbag control unit to body screw Tightening torque 8 Nm - Connect connectors (1) and lock.
- Position the insulation (3) correctly.
- Fit and correctly position the holder (2).
- Tighten the nuts (arrows).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Holder of center console to body Nut M8 Tightening torque 19 Nm - Clip in the cable clip (1).
