Removing the intake plenum

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.
Preliminary work
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE OF THE SYSTEM BATTERY .
- Refer to REMOVING THE ACOUSTIC COVER .
- Refer to REMOVING TANK VENT VALVE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE INTAKE MANIFOLD FOR INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
- Refer to REMOVING INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING .
- Refer to IF INSTALLED: PARTIALLY REMOVING THE ENGINE VENTILATION LINE .

- Perform all work only on components that have cooled down.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) at the Valvetronic servomotor.
- Unclip wiring harness (2) and release it from the intake plenum.
- Unclip the positive battery cable (3) from the alternator and release it from the intake plenum.
- Unlock and disconnect the plug connection (1) on the boost pressure sensor.
- Loosen clamps (2).
- Feed the wiring harness (3) out from the intake plenum and set aside.
- Feed out coolant line (1) from the holder (2) and place to one side.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Guide the fuel feed line (2) out and set it aside.
- Unlock the locks (arrows).
- Feed out cable duct (1) and set it aside.
- Make sure that the locks (1) engage in the holders (arrows).
- Unlock and release the plug connection (1) on the boost pressure sensor.
- Unlock and release the plug connection (2) on the throttle valve.
- Unlock the pressure pipe (3) and disconnect it from the throttle body.
- Remove the pressure pipe (3) and put to one side.NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- Unlock and release the engine ventilation line (1) from throttle body (2).
- Release the screws in the sequence (5) to (1).
- Feed the intake plenum (6) out from the cylinder head and remove it.
