Installing the rear trim

• Check clips (1) on rear trim (2) for damage and replace them if necessary.

• Check spacer (1) for damage and replace it if necessary.
• Position and engage the spacer (1) correctly in the rear trim (3).
• If necessary, replace missing screws (2) on rear trim (3).

• Check the seals (1) and (2) for damage; replace if necessary.
• Check gutter strips (3) for damage and replace them if necessary.
• Check seals (4) on rear lights (5) on the tailgate for damage and replace them if necessary.

• Coat the seal (1) on the rear trim (2) with a suitable lubricant.

• Open the tailgate slightly.
• Position the rear trim (1) with the seal (2) on the rear window from the bottom.
• Thread the sealing lip (3) of the seal (2) completely under the rear window (4).
• Press on seal (2) with special tool  0 490 538 (00 9 321)  .

• Clip in the rear trim (1) with the clips (2).

  NOTE: Perform the steps on the left and right side.
• Tighten nuts (1).
  TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
  
  

  Rear trim to trunk lid
  M5 nut	Tightening torque	4.5 Nm

• Connect connectors (1) and lock.
