12 51 215 Replacing wiring harness section for Valvetronic servomotor (B46, B48)

Necessary preliminary work:

Removal:

Release expanding rivet (2).

Undo the bolt (1) and remove the cover (3).

Loosen screw (1).

Lay the cover (2) of the positive battery connection point to one side.

Release the screws along the arrows and remove the tension strut (1).

Unlock and remove cover (1).

Unlock and pull off all connectors (1) in the direction of arrow at the control unit.

Unlock the lock (2) and release the cable clip (1) and place to one side.

Release the cable clip (2) from cover (1) and lay to one side.

Feed out cover (1) and remove.

Overview of Valvetronic servomotor wiring harness section

Unlock and disconnect following connectors and lines	Note
Unlock and disconnect connector from DME control unit
Unlock and disconnect connector from servomotor

Release wiring harness from clips and retainers.

Feed out wiring harness and remove.

Installation:

Route and install wiring harness.

Plug in all connectors as specified in table.

All connectors must audibly engage.

Connect all connectors (1) at the control unit in the direction of arrow.

All connectors (1) must engage audibly.

Lock the cover (1) in the lock (2).

Lock (2) must snap audibly into place.

Feed in and install the cover (1).

Attach the cable clip (2) to the cover (1).

Feed in the cable clip (1) and lock it in the lock (2).

Install the tension strut (1) and tighten the screws along the arrows.

Tightening torque 17 10 8AZ .

Install the cover (2) of the positive battery connection point.

Tighten screw (1).

Tightening torque 17 10 10AZ .

Install the cover (3) and tighten the screw (1).

Tightening torque 17 10 10AZ .

Install expanding rivet (2).
