34 52 162 Removing and installing/replacing EMF actuator

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Release parking brake.
Switch off ignition.

IMPORTANT: Switch off ignition at least 30 s before disconnecting the plug connection!

Removal:

Disconnect plug connection (1).

Detach cable from bracket (2).

Remove screws (1) and remove actuator (2).

Take off holder.

Installation:

NOTE: Check sealing ring (1), replace if necessary.
Apply a light coating of brake fluid to sealing ring (1) before fitting.

NOTE: Carefully fit actuator drive until teeth engage and actuator drive rests flush on brake caliper.
If necessary, turn actuator drive slightly until bore hole and thread are flush.

Insert screws (1) and tighten.

Replace screws.

Parts: screws.

Tightening torque, refer to: 34 41 1AZ.

Attach cable to bracket (2).

Position plug connection (1) and lock.

Required follow-up work:

NOTE: After completing repair work:

Switch on ignition and, using electrical parking brake operating element, open parking brake once, close once and open again.
