63 21 279 Removing and installing/replacing left rear light (on tailgate)

Removal:

Unclip cover (1) outwards from tailgate trim panel.

Unlock and disconnect connector (1).

Slacken nut (2) until nut (2) is flush with threaded bolt.

Carefully lift rear light (1) and detach in direction of arrow from retaining tabs (2).

Remove the rear light (1) from the tailgate (3).

Installation:

Installation note:

Retaining tabs (1) on the rear light (4) must not be damaged or missing.

Gasket (2) on the rear light (4) must not be damaged or missing.

Slacken nut (3) until nut (3) is flush with threaded bolt.

Carefully join the rear light (1) to the tailgate using the retaining tabs (2).

Join rear light (1) to tailgate in direction of arrow.

Installation note:

Make sure rear light (1) is correctly seated.

Tighten retaining bracket with nut (2).

Tightening torque, refer to: 63 21 3AZ .

Connect the connector (1).

Installation note:

Make sure the retaining bracket is correctly fitted on the tailgate.

Retaining lugs on trim (1) must not be damaged or missing.

Clip cover (1) into tailgate trim panel from outside to inside.

Installation note:

Ensure trim (1) is correctly seated.
