11 61 050 Removing and installing intake plenum
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect BATTERY EARTH LEAD
- Remove INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING
- Remove TANK VENTING VALVE
Removal:
Unlock and detach connector (1) on Valvetronic actuator.
Unclip wiring harness (2) and detach from intake plenum.
Unclip positive wire of alternator (3) and detach from intake plenum.
Unlock and pull off connector (1) from charging pressure sensor.
Unclip refrigerant hose (2) from holder.
Unclip wiring harness (3) and detach from intake plenum.
Release connector (1) on pressure sensor and pull off.
Release connector (2) on the throttle valve and pull off.
Unlock and pull off pressure pipe (3) from throttle body.
Put the pressure pipe (3) to one side.
Slacken screws in the sequence (5 - 1) .
Pull intake plenum (6) off the cylinder head and uninstall.
Installation:
Remounting the THROTTLE BODY .
Remounting the CHARGING PRESSURE SENSOR .
Installation note:
Align the intake plenum on the cylinder head using the guides (2) for assistance.
Install the intake plenum (6).
Tighten screws in the sequence (1 - 5) .
Tightening torque: 11 61 1AZ .
Attach connector (1) to pressure sensor.
Connector (1) must snap audibly into place.
Attach connector (2) to throttle valve.
Connector (2) must snap audibly into place.
Connect pressure pipe (3) to throttle body.
The pressure pipe (3) must snap audibly into place.
Attach connector (1) to charging pressure sensor.
Connector (1) must snap audibly into place.
Clip refrigerant hose (2) into holder.
Clip wiring harness (3) to the intake plenum.
Plug connector (1) on to actuator for Valvetronic.
Connector (1) must snap audibly into place.
Clip wiring harness (2) to the intake plenum.
Clip positive wire of alternator (3) to the intake plenum.
Required follow-up work:
- Installing the TANK VENTING VALVE
- Install INTAKE SILENCER HOUSING
- Connect BATTERY EARTH LEAD
