Removing and installing (replacing) left (Xenon) headlight (330i xDrive Wagon, 328d xDrive Wagon, 330i GT xDrive, 340i GT xDrive)

WARNING: Version with xenon lighting system:
Danger to life due to high voltage! Therefore disconnect all components from voltage supply before removal.
Work on the entire xenon lighting system (ignition device, control unit and bulb) may only be carried out by qualified personnel.

Necessary preliminary work:

Remove front BUMPER PANEL .

NOTE: If the retaining clip (2) is present, the central connector on the headlight cannot be disconnected!

Release screw (1) and remove retaining clip (2) if necessary.

Unlock and remove cover (1).

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Unfasten screws (2).

Tightening torque 63 12 1AZ .

Release screw (3).

Tightening torque 63 12 1AZ .

Tightening torque 63 12 1AZ .

Carefully remove headlight (2) in direction of arrow.

Installation note:

NOTE: Correctly install headlight (1) relative to holder (2).
Adjust HEADLIGHT .

Installation note:

NOTE: Rubber plugs (1) in engine compartment lid (2) must not be missing or damaged.
No cavity preservation may emerge from the rubber plugs (1).

Replacement:

US version: Check blocking at HORIZONTAL POSITION .
Remount XENON CONTROL UNIT .
Remount IGNITION DEVICE WITH BULB. .
Remount HEADLIGHT DRIVER MODULE .
Remount daytime driving lights LED MODULE .
