Removing and installing/replacing driver's side fold-down compartment (330i xDrive Wagon, 328d xDrive Wagon, 330i GT xDrive, 340i GT xDrive)

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).
Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove left DECORATIVE STRIP on dashboard
Open fold-down compartment (1).
Unfasten screws (2).
NOTE:
Fold-down compartment (2) is screwed onto holder (1) in area (A) and is fastened to dashboard in this way.
Remove holder (1) though opening.
Feed out fold-down compartment (2) in direction of arrow.
