Preparing New Part

Remove adhesive residue on the joining surfaces on the vehicle.
Remove the sheet metal cutout (3) so that it can be reused.
Make separating cut (1) on new part in accordance with separating cut on vehicle.

Welding in reinforcement plates (sheet steel)
Prepare a reinforcement plate for the separating cut.
Open the welded connections in areas (2) and remove the metal section (3).

Loosen welded connections in areas (1).

Release the welded connections in areas (1) and take off the A-pillar reinforcement (2).

Adjust the new part using an alignment bracket or a universal fixture and secure it.
Prepare areas (1) and (2) for joining by welding.

In the area (2), observe the procedure for replacing spot-welded adhesive joints for standard production.
To do this, prepare additional MAG plug weldings of the inside in area (2).

In the area (1), prepare an approx. 20 mm long MAG weld seam.

Adjust the section (1).
Prepare a reinforcement plate for the separating cut (2).
Prepare areas (3) for joining by welding.

Mark and perform separating cuts (1) and (2) on the new part according to the separating cuts on the vehicle.

Replacing the coarse thread bolt and threaded weld bolts (steel surface)

NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.

Renew the coarse thread bolt (1) and the threaded weld bolt (2).
Parts: Coarse thread bolt, threaded weld bolt

Take the number and position from the component to be replaced or the add-ons.
Weld the coarse thread bolt (1) and threaded weld bolt (2) onto the new part.
