Removing the headlining rear side

Precondition

Battery charger connected.

NOTE: First perform steps completely on the left side. Then perform the identical steps on the right side.

CAUTION: Folding up of convertible top through loss of pressure in hydraulic cylinders .
Injury hazard! Injury hazard by trapping!

When carrying out all repair work, secure soft top and soft top compartment lid with a suitable support tool against collapsing. Ensure soft top is supported in the middle.

Bring the convertible top (1) in the half opened position.
Secure the convertible top (1) from collapsing by using the support 2 452 010 if necessary.
Release the retaining clip (1).
Guide out bolt (2).
Remove the rubber grommet (3).
Guide the tension cable (4) out of the guides (5).

Loosen blind rivet (1).
Guide out the tension cable (2).

Release the Jetpress plastic rivet (1).
Guide out tension cable (2) from convertible top linkage (3) in the arrow direction.

NOTE: If necessary, slide the linkage aperture flap to the front for better accessibility.

Guide out tension cable (1) further in the arrow direction from the guides on convertible top linkage (2) and retaining strap (3).

Feed out the tension cable (1) from the retaining tab (2) at the convertible top brace.
