Removing the emergency unlocking mechanism of the Bowden cable
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR COVERING .
- Refer to REMOVING THE LOADING EDGE TRIM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE UPPER LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM PANELS .
- Refer to REMOVING LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT WHEEL ARCH TRIM PANEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE CONVERTIBLE TOP COMPARTMENT LID .
NOTE:
For a better overview the removed condition is shown here.
- Close the convertible top compartment lid mechanism manually.
- Release blind rivet (1).
- Detach the adhesive tape (2).
- Thread the Bowden cable (3) out of the holders (4) and out of the convertible top compartment lid mechanism in the area (5).
