Installing the door sill trim panel

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Mechanical effects .
Paint damage .

Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.

Install the inner section of the door sill trim panel

Check

Check the clips (1) at the inner section of the door sill trim panel for damage, replace if necessary.
Check the detents (2) at the inner section of the door sill trim panel for damage.

Result

» Detents (2) are damaged.

Measure

NOTE: To provide a better overview: Schematic diagram with partially hidden components.

Check the retaining strips (1),(2) and (3) for damage, replace the retaining strips if necessary.

Guide in and position the inner section of the door sill trim panel with a support person.
Clip in the inner section of the door sill trim panel with the clips (2).
Clip in the inner section of the door sill trim panel toward the rear continuously with the detents (1).

Install outer section of the door sill trim panel

Check

Check the clips (1) of the trim at the door sill trim panel (2) for damage, replace if necessary.
Check the detents (arrows) of the trim at the door sill trim panel (2) for damage.

Result

» Detents (arrows) are damaged.

Measure

Fit the trim at the door sill trim panel (1) with the outer section of the door sill trim panel (2); work with a support person for this.
Clip in the trim at the door sill trim panel (1) with the outer section of the door sill trim panel (2) into the clips (3).

Clip in the trim at the door sill trim panel (2) with the outer section of the door sill trim panel (3) toward the rear in sequence with the detents (arrows).
Clip in the detents (1).

Tighten nuts (2) and screws (1).

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATION

Undershield, side
Hexagon screw	Tightening torque	2.6 Nm
Plastic nut	Tightening torque	2.6 Nm
