For reusing: Checking the output shaft and replacing the snap ring

If the driven shaft is reused, the snap ring must be replaced.

Extreme force being required during installation is an indication that the component is damaged or deformed. Check component and replace if necessary.

- Check the gearing of the output shaft for damage and replace damaged parts if necessary.
- Check the dust plate (1) for damage and replace damaged parts as needed.
- Replace the snap ring (3).
Parts: snap ring
- Coat the contact surface (2) using approved rear differential fluid.
