- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

- Release the clamp (1) with the correctly selected special tool.
- Loosen screw (2).
- Release the clamps (1) with the correctly selected special tool.
- Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Loosen screws (2).
- Feed out the gas generator (3) with folding pack.
- Release the clamps (1) with the correctly selected special tool.
- Unclip the cable clip (1).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Feed out the head airbag (2).
