Precondition
Second person is available for the entire duration of the repair.
All special tools are clean and free of grease.
Workbay is clean.
Hands are clean.
NOTE:
A second person must be available to the person performing the task for the entire duration
of the repair process.
The second person has the following tasks:
Check that the bonding surfaces are cleaned properly.
Check of correct installation of the pressure compensation element.
Check that the special tools are handled as prescribed.
Check of correct repair in accordance with the repair instructions.

- Remove the pressure compensation element (1)
using scraper 0 495 102 (11 4 470). NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The bonding surface must be free of adhesive residue, greases and cleaning agents. - With the plug 0 494 179 (32 1 270) seal the opening to prevent dirt from entering the interior of the housing.
- Remove the coarse adhesive residues from the bonding surface (1) with the scraper 0495 102 (11 4 470) .
- Remove the fine adhesive residues from the bonding surface (1)
with the cleaning agent.CONSUMABLE SPECIFICATION
Safety cleaning agent 2.0 500 ml, Spray can 83192362037 20, Canister 83192362038 60, Canister 83192362040 - Dry bonding surface (1) with a clean, lint-free cleaning cloth.
- Remove the plug 0 494 179 (32 1 270).
- Use the two person principle to check bonding surface (1) for damage (e.g. scratches).
- If bonding surface (1)
is damaged, replace the lid of the drive unit.

with scraper 0 495 102 (11 4 470).
- Remove the second pressure compensation element (1)
with scraper 0 495 102 (11 4 470). NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The bonding surface must be free of adhesive residue, greases and cleaning agents. - Use plugs 0 494 179 (32 1 270) to seal openings (1) and (2) to prevent dirt ingress inside the housing.
- Remove any coarse adhesive residue from bonding surfaces (1) and (2) with scraper 0 495 102 (11 4 470).
- Remove any fine adhesive residue from bonding surfaces (1)
and (2)
