Setting the retraction depth/longitudinal direction of the door window glass

NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.

Open door.
Insert the special tool 2 356 862 with 5 mm holder (1) in a locked state (A) into the door window glass (see detail presentation in the next illustration).
Distance: 40 mm respectively towards the inner side from the outer edge of the door window glass.

Close the door and release the lock (2) (illustration B).
Read retraction depth on the scale.

Front nominal dimension: 5.5 ±1 mm

Rear nominal dimension: 8.0 ±1 mm

Release the front door window glass

Undo multi-tooth nuts (1) on side window glass with special tool 2 360 051 A . (Observe next operation.)

Only undo the multi-tooth nut (1) to the extent it is flush with the socket (2).

Attach the special tool 2 359 976 to the door window glass in such a way that the multi-tooth nuts on the door window glass are still accessible.
Release adjustment lever (1) by twisting.
Set the retraction depth of the side window (1) by shifting the adjustment lever.
Front nominal dimension: 5.5 ±1 mm

Rear nominal dimension: 8.0 ±1 mm
Tighten adjustment lever (1).
Adjust the door window glass (1) so that it is parallel with the rear side window (2).
Dimension A= 15 ±1 mm

Tighten the front door window glass

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
When using special tools that extend the lever arm of the torque wrench, the setpoint torque deviates from the adjustable torque.

Converting the setpoint torque into the adjustable torque: (Setpoint torque * L1)/L2 = Torque to be set
L1 = length from the center of the grip to the reversible ratchet head

L2 = length from the center of the grip to the center point of the ring on the special tool

Tighten multi-point nuts (1) on the door window glass in the front using special tool 2 360 051 B and a torque wrench.

TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

Multi-tooth nut	tightening torque	11 Nm
Multi-tooth nut	tightening torque	11 Nm
