Lowering the headlining (with sliding/tilting sunroof)

Preliminary work 

• Refer to REMOVING A-PILLAR TRIM PANEL, LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVING THE SUN VISORS AND COUNTER SUPPORT ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVING THE ROOF FUNCTION CENTER (FZD) .
• Refer to REMOVING REAR SEAT BENCH .
• Refer to REMOVING LEFT AND RIGHT BACKREST SIDE SECTION .
• Refer to REMOVING RIGHT C-PILLAR TRIM PANEL LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVING THE INNER DOOR SILL COVER STRIP ON THE LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVING SIDE TRIM PANEL, REAR LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Refer to REMOVING THE B-PILLAR TRIM PANEL AT LEFT AND RIGHT .
• Refer to TRIMMING OF THE 3RD BRAKE LIGHT .

Precondition 

The front seats have been fully adjusted towards the bottom.

The front seat backrests have been fully adjusted towards the rear.

The rear seat backrest is folded toward the front.

• Loosen the expanding rivet (1).

• Loosen screw (1).
• Unclip the headlining at the clips (2) downwards.

• Unclip the headlining (1) at the clips (2) downwards.
• Carefully unclip the headlining (1) in the are of the dashed line from the sliding/tilting sunroof case and brackets (3).

  NOTE: Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
• With the help of another person, feed out the headlining (1) from the respective edge protections.
• Place the headlining (1) in the vehicle with an support person.
