Removing upper cross connection

Paint damage

Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape
Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons

Preliminary work

Unclip Bowden cable bracket (1) from the body
Release lid (2) from snap-in lugs (3) and fold it up and to the front

Detach the Bowden cable (1)
Set Bowden cable bracket (2) aside together with the Bowden cables

Detach Bowden cable (1) on the upper cross connection
Loosen screws (2)

Carefully pull the bumper cover (1) slightly in a forward direction as shown
Remove the expanding rivet (2)
Guide out and remove cross connection (3) upwards
