22 32 050 Replacing cross member for automatic transmission mounting (RWD vehicles) (230i coupe/convertible, M240i coupe/convertible)

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove rear UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
• Support transmission with lifter.

Removal: 

Loosen screws (1).

Unscrew nuts (2).

Remove cross member.

Installation: 

Install cross member.

Tighten down nuts (2).

Tightening torque 22 32 4AZ .

Tighten down screws (1).

Tightening torque 22 32 3AZ .

Required follow-up work: 

• Install heat shield.
• Refer to INSTALLING THE REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
