51 16 160 Removing and installing/replacing center console cover (2' Series coupe and convertible, 2017-2021)

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary work: 

• Refer to REMOVING DECORATIVE TRIM ON CENTER CONSOLE .

Manual gearbox only: 

• Refer to REMOVING GAITER .

With automatic transmission only: 

• Refer to REMOVING COVER FOR SELECTOR LEVER .

Only for model facelift (LCI) vehicles: 

• Refer to REMOVING THE OPERATING FACILITY IN THE CENTER CONSOLE .

Release cover (1) at latch mechanisms (2) and clamps (3).

Slightly raise the cover (1) and disconnect associated plug connection.

Feed out cover (1) toward the top/rear.

• Latch mechanisms (2)
• Clamps (3)

Replacement: 

Remount THE OPERATING FACILITY IN THE CENTER CONSOLE (4)
