Removing starter motor
Precondition
- Ignition is switched off.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING THE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR COVERING .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING REAR UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SUPPORT FOR THE UNDERBODY PROTECTION .
Precondition
Battery earth lead is disconnected.
- Remove the cover (1) and loosen the nut below.
- Loosen the positive battery cable from the starter motor and put to one side.
- Release the nut (2) and release the cable from the starter motor.
- Loosen screws (1).
- Remove starter motor (2).
