Removing and installing/replacing switch cover on left or right front door trim panel (2016-2022)

When working on trim panel components, make sure that visible surfaces are not scratched or damaged (e.g. by sharp-edged tools).

Necessary preliminary tasks: 

• Remove COVER ON DOOR HANDLE .

Use a suitable tool (1) to release latch mechanism (2) of switch cover (3) in direction of arrow.

Unclip switch cover (3) from door trim panel towards front/top.

Disconnect plug connection and remove switch cover (3).

Installation note: 

Following parts must not be missing or damaged:

1. Catch
2. Retaining clips
3. Guides

Replacement: 

Remount switch for power window (4). Refer to REMOVING AND INSTALLING/REPLACING POWER WINDOW SWITCH (DRIVER'S SIDE) (M2) or REPLACING THE POWER WINDOWS REGULATOR ON THE PASSENGER'S SIDE (M2) .
