Preliminary work
- Refer to ADJUSTING THE EXHAUST FLAP SERVOMOTORS INTO INSTALLATION POSITION .
- Refer to REMOVING THE REAR DIFFUSER .
Replacing the rear silencer
- Unlock connector (1).
- Disconnect the connector (1) of the exhaust flap (2).
- Unlock connector (1).
- Disconnect the connector (1) of the exhaust flap (2).NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE

Scratches, surface damage .- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.
- Mask off the bordering areas of the rear silencer for the bumper cover with adhesive tape
.CONSUMABLE SPECIFICATION
adh . 51717901759 - If the separation point (1) is not marked by a grain (2) in the pipe, then determine the separation point (1) by means of the length of the pipe on the new rear silencer.
- Apply the separation point (1) to faulty rear silencer and mark it.
- With the help of a second person, secure the front silencer to prevent it from falling down.
- Cut through exhaust pipes at the marked point with a suitable tool.
- Loosen nuts (1).
- Guide out and remove rear silencer with assistance of a second person.
Remounting the rear silencer
- Loosen screws (1).
- Remove the controller drive for exhaust flap (2)
- Position the heat shield (2).
- Position the controller drive for exhaust flap (3).
- Make sure that the shaft of the controller drive for exhaust flap (3) and the shaft of the exhaust flap in the area (1) interlock correctly.
- Position the screws (1) on the controller drive for exhaust flap (2).
- Tighten down screws (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Actuator for the exhaust flap M6x16 tightening torque 8.5 Nm - Remove the rubber mount (2) from the bars (1) of the former rear silencer.
- Install the rubber mount (2) on the bars (1) of the rear silencer.
- Position the rear silencer (1) with the help of a second person.
- Replace the circlips (2).
Parts: Clamps
- Slide circlips (2) onto the center silencer.
- Adjust the rear silencer (1) on the center silencer (3).
- The openings of the circlips (2) must point outwards.
- Tighten nuts in area (1) of the circlips (2).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
cl . Nuts Tightening torque 45 Nm - Connect connector (1).
- Lock connector (1) to exhaust flap (2).
- Connect connector (1).
- Lock connector (1) to exhaust flap (2).
