Disconnect the battery earth lead for the active steering

Check: 

• Check if a battery for the active steering is installed.

Result: 

» If a battery for the active steering is installed.

Measure: 

• Disconnect the negative battery cable for the active steering.

• Loosen screws (1).
• Remove the retainers (2).
• Remove the separator (3) upward and set aside.

• Remove the foam insert (1) of the separator upward.
• Move the auxiliary battery (2) to the right with the associated foam inlay.

• Release clips (1) and remove the cover (2).

• Open the protective cap (1).
• Unscrew the screw from the negative battery cable for active steering (2).
• Place the negative battery cable for active steering (2) to one side and secure it.
