Removing the Bowden cable of the external door handle

- Before performing any work on the airbag, always disconnect the battery ground lead from the battery.
- Airbag unit may only be set down with the cushion (airbag itself) facing upwards.

Preliminary work

- Refer to PREPARING THE SPECIAL TOOL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE OUTER FRONT WINDOW CHANNEL STRIP .
- Refer to RELEASING THE FRONT DOOR WINDOW GLASS .
- Refer to REMOVING FRONT DOOR TRIM PANEL .
- Refer to DISCONNECTING ALL BATTERY GROUND LEADS .
- Refer to REMOVING THE FRONT MODULE BRACKET .

- Refer to PARTIALLY RELEASING REAR INNER WINDOW CHANNEL STRIP .

- Refer to REMOVING DOOR LOCK .
- Detach the linkage (1) from the door lock (2).
- Lift the lug (1) over the clip and twist it upwards.
- Detach the Bowden cable (2).
- Detach the Bowden cable nipple (3).
- Detach the Bowden cable (1) from the door lock (3).
- Detach the Bowden cable nipple (2) on the door lock (3).
