Adjusting Both Tailgate Hinges

• Slacken nuts (1) until the tailgate hinge (2) can be shifted.
• Shift tailgate hinge (2) horizontally, till the Trunk lid has the specified gap dimension for the side panel.
• Tighten nuts (1).

  Tailgate hinge to body
  Nut M8
  	tightening torque	19 Nm

  NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
• Slacken the nut (1) until the hinge arm can be shifted.
• Shift the hinge arm vertically until the trunk lid has the specified gap dimension to the side panel.
• Tighten the nut (1).

  Check 

• Check the gap dimensions (arrows) between trunk lid and side panels.

  » Gap dimensions do not correspond to the specifications.

  Measure

  • Adjust tailgate hinge.

  Installing the tension spring for the left tailgate 

• Before installing the tension spring (1), ensure that the retaining spring (2) is in its initial position in the arrow direction.
• Check the retaining spring for damage; renew the tension spring if necessary.

• Position tension spring (1) on the ball sockets of ball pin and snap it in with force.

  The tension spring (1) must not be pressed centrally, but must always be pressed on the ball sockets of the ball pin.

  The tension spring (1) must snap-in perceptibly and audibly.

  Installing the electrical spindle drive for the right tailgate 

• Before installing the electrical spindle drive for the right trunk lid (1), make sure that the retaining spring (2) is in its initial respective position.

• Press the rear ball socket (1) on the body in the arrow direction onto the ball hubs (2) until the retaining spring (3) engages correctly and audibly.
• Press the front ball socket (1) on the tailgate hinge onto the ball hubs (2) until the retaining spring (3) engages correctly and audibly.

• Connect connectors (1) and lock.
