Removing Roof Outer Skin
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
- Release the rivets (1) and remove the ground strap (2).
Remove all 4 ground straps.

Heat the bonded connection (1) with a hot air blower until the adhesive is dissolved and release.
Heat the bonded connection (1) in sections beginning from the rear left and remove.
- Observe the detailed procedure in the following step.
- Carefully drive in the plastic or wooden wedge (1) at the heated section.
The wedge creates tension between the roof outer skin and the body.
Do not exert force to drive in wedge.
If you cannot drive the wedge in, continue to heat a large area of the roof outer skin at the adhesive flange (maximum 180°C).
- Heat the bonded connection with a hot air blower until the adhesive is loosened.
- Heat the next section until the roof outer skin loosens.
- Readjust the plastic wedge and repeat the procedure until the roof outer skin is completely detached.
- Release and remove the roof outer skin from the sound insulations (1) (expansion foam strips).
