Remove soft top bow
Precondition
- Battery charger connected.
CAUTION:
Folding up of convertible top through loss of pressure in hydraulic cylinders

- When carrying out all repair work, secure soft top and soft top compartment lid with a suitable support tool against collapsing. Ensure soft top is supported in the middle.
Preliminary work
- Refer to REMOVING WINDSHIELD PANEL TRIM .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SEAL FOR THE WINDSHIELD PANEL .
- Refer to REMOVING THE SEALING CARRIER OF THE LEFT-HAND AND RIGHT-HAND WINDSHIELD PANEL SEALS .
- Loosen blind rivet (1).
- Release the headlining (1) from the clamps (2).
- Fold the headlining (1) down and detach it from the springs (2).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Feed the convertible top fabric (2) outwards from the convertible top bow (3).
- Detach the convertible top fabric (1) along the marked area of the retaining clips (2) and feed out from convertible top bow.
- Detach the tension cable (1) from the convertible top bow (2).
- Fold back the convertible top fabric (1) towards the rear.
- Feed out the retaining straps (2) from the convertible top bow (3).
- Detach the convertible top fabric (1) for the retaining strip from the convertible top bow (2).
- Mark the position of the front strut (1) on the convertible top linkage (2).
- Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.
- Release the screws (4) and remove the front strut (1).
