Installing the hydraulic cylinder for the convertible top
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
- Protect the working area from escaping hydraulic fluid.
- Check the seal (1) of the hydraulic line (2) for correct fit and damage, replace it if necessary.
- Position the hydraulic lines (2) on the hydraulic cylinder (3).
- Slide the locking plates (1) on from the outside, and lock them.
- Fasten the cable tie.
- Feed in the hydraulic cylinder (1) for the convertible top towards the rear.NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
When moving the convertible top: Absolutely ensure that no moving parts collide with the loose hydraulic cylinder. - Open the convertible top (1) by hand and pack it into the convertible top compartment.
- Position the hydraulic cylinder for the convertible top (1) at the holes for the guide pins (2) in the main compartment for the convertible top (3).NOTE: For a better overview the removed condition is shown here.
- Insert the special tool 2 461 260 .
- By turning the special tool in the direction of the arrow, slide the guide pins (2) into the convertible top main bearing (1).
- Fasten the safety cotter pin (1).
- Manually close the convertible top.
- Feed in and position the hydraulic cylinder for the convertible top (3).NOTE: For ease of positioning, the hydraulic cylinder can be inserted and withdrawn slowly by hand.
- Thread in the top guide pins (2).
- Insert the retaining clips (1).
