Replace bumper cover, front

NOTE: TECHNICAL INFORMATION
In order to guarantee the quality of the Driver Assistance functions in vehicles with concealed radar sensors, the component may be repainted only in compliance with the following instructions.
No stickers or films (transparent or colored) may be affixed in the transmission areas of the radar sensors.
If there are no radar sensors fitted, the component may be painted.
The following features can be used to identify whether radar sensors are installed on the vehicle:
Radar sensors are installed at the rear if the triangular warning light is present on the exterior mirror (in the mirror glass or on the mirror frame).
Radar sensors are installed at the front and rear if the triangular warning light is present on the exterior mirror (in the mirror glass or on the mirror frame) in conjunction with optional equipment S5ATA or S5AUA.

Unclip the cover of the towing eye (1) at the detents (2).

NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.

Release the air inlet trim from the detents (1) and remove.

Unlock the detents (1) and remove the ultrasonic sensor (2) upwards.
Perform the steps on all other ultrasonic sensors.

Detach the spoiler edge (1) from the front bumper cover.

Replace the front bumper cover.
Parts: Bumper cover
Position spoiler edge (1) and attach the front bumper cover.

Check decoupling ring (1) for damage and, if necessary, replace it.
The decoupling ring must not be missing.

Guide in ultrasonic sensor (2) and lock it in place into locks (1).
Perform the steps on all other ultrasonic sensors.

Check detents (1) for damage.

Result

» Detent is damaged.

Measure
- Replace the bumper cover.
Position the air inlet trim on the front bumper cover and clip in locks (1).

Guide in tether.
Position the cover of the towing eye (1) and clip in with the detents (2).
