Remove left and right luggage compartment wheel arch trim panels
NOTE:
Perform the steps on the left and right side.
NOTE:
Description is for left component only. Procedure on the right side is identical.
Luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel
- Unclip covers (1) of lashing eyes (2).
- Release screws (3) of lashing eyes (2).
- Open expanding rivet (4) of bag hook.
NOTE:

- Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
- Unclip the emergency release (3) and detach the Bowden cable (2).
- Remove the remote backrest unlocking (5) with a suitable tool from the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (1).
- Detach the Bowden cable (4).
- Feed out the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (1) from the front guides (2) and remove it.
- Feed out the luggage compartment wheel arch trim panel (2) under the sealing lip of the tailgate seal and remove.
Removing the emergency release handle for the tailgate (additional work for US version)
NOTE:

- Loosen the emergency release handle (1) for the tailgate from the holder.
- Detach the Bowden cable (2) and remove the emergency release handle (1) for the tailgate.
