Lift the rear axle differential (without regulated rear axle differential lock)
- Lift the rear axle differential (1) using special tools 0 496 009 (33 5 200)
and 0 490 133 (00 2 030)
and position on the rear axle support.
Make sure that the special tool 0 496 080 (33 5 206) is not pinched between the rear axle differential and the dust plate.
- Replace screws (1).

- Screw in the screws (1) using hand force and tighten.TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Rear differential to rear axle carrier, front M12
Replace screw.Joining torque 100 Nm Angle of rotation 90° NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed. - Position the ground strap (2).
- Tighten nut (1).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Ground strap on rear axle differential M12 Tightening torque 15 Nm - Replace the screw (1).

- Insert the screw (1).
- Replace nut (1).

Rear differential to rear axle carrier, rear M14
Replace screw and nut.Joining torque 165 Nm Angle of rotation 90° - Replace the screw (1).

- Tighten down screw (1).TIGHTENING TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
Rear axle differential to rear right rear axle support M10
Replace screw.Joining torque 56 Nm Angle of rotation 90° - Release and remove the special tool 0 496 080 (33 5 206) from the rear axle differential (1).
- Lower and remove the special tools 0 490 133 (00 2 030)
and 0 496 009 (33 5 200).
