Inserting the left or right output shaft in the rear axle differential
- Fold open the assembly protection ring (1).
- Inserting the left output shaft
(3) in the rear axle differential:
Turn the rear axle differential (1) with the special tool 0 496 009 (33 5 200) to the left. Thereby, insert the left output shaft (3) in the rear axle differential (1).
- Inserting the right output shaft
(2) in the rear axle differential:
Turn the rear axle differential (1) with the special tool 0 496 009 (33 5 200) to the right. Thereby, insert the right output shaft (2) in the rear axle differential (1).
- Pull on the lug (1) of the installation protection ring until one of the two predetermined breaking points breaks.
- Pull out and dispose of the installation protection ring.
