Adjusting the tailgate hinges

• Close the convertible top compartment lid.
• Install tailgate.

Opening the tailgate lock 

• Open tailgate lock (1).

• Close tailgate slowly and check for body ground. If necessary, reposition the tailgate hinges.

Check 

• Check the gap dimensions (arrowed) between trunk lid and adjacent components.

Measure

• Adjust tailgate hinge.

Remove striker for the tailgate latch 

• Loosen screws (1).
• Remove striker for the tailgate latch (2).

• Open the convertible top compartment lid.

• Slacken the nuts (1) and (2) until the tailgate hinge can be shifted.
• Shift the tailgate hinge vertically until the tailgate has the specified gap dimension to the adjacent components.
• Tighten the nuts (1) and (2).
