Removing the intake line in the front

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

Residual pressure in the air conditioning system.

- Wear safety goggles and protective gloves when disconnecting the refrigerant line.
- Close the refrigerant lines with seal plugs.

Damage to battery terminal, the safety battery terminal or the intelligent battery sensor (IBS).

- Detach battery terminal from battery pole by carefully shifting to and fro. Do not pry off using a tool.
Preliminary work

- Unlock and disconnect the connector (1) on the alternator (2).
- Remove coolant hose (1) from the holder (2) if applicable and push it to the side a little.
- Unlock and disconnect connector (3).
- Release the screws (1) and remove the refrigerant lines from the air conditioning compressor (2).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Feed out and remove the intake pipe (2).
