Removing the rear outer window recess finisher strip
Preparing the special tool
- Only perform if the upper bore is not present .
- Mark and perform the bore on the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) according to the specified
dimensions.
Introduce the bore on the side with the long shank.
The diameter of the bore is 6 mm.
Dimension (a) = 25 mm from the center of the existing bore
Dimension (b) = 50 mm from the outer edge of the special tool
NOTE:
Schematic diagram is for example purposes. Some parts may differ in certain details.
- Insert the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) at the front (on B-pillar) into the window cavity and slide it toward the back.
- Position the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324)
as shown at the lower edge of the rear outer window channel strip (1) with the short shank (2).NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Careless handling of tools and sharp-edged components .
Scratches, surface damage .- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.
- Lift up the rear outer window channel strip (3) with the special tool 2 298 505 as shown; maximum 5 mm
- Position the special tool 0 496 570 (00 9 326) on the door trim panel (1).
- Thread a suitable tool (2) through the opening in the special tool 0 495 484 (00 9 324) .
- Gradually shift special tool 2 298 505 and 0 495 484 (00 9 324) backwards until the rear outer window channel strip (3) has been completely disassembled.
