Remove Right Tailgate Hinge

Removing electrical spindle drive for right trunk lid

NOTE: RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to the spindle drive .
If the trunk lid is not opened completely, the spindle drive may be damaged .

Remove and install the spindle drive only when the Trunk lid is open to the maximum extent.

Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.

Before removing electrical spindle drive (1) for the right tailgate, make sure that ball socket (2) is relieved.
Release the ball socket at the front (2) of the tailgate hinge.
Release the ball socket at the rear (2) of the body.
Lift each retaining spring (3) slightly with a small screwdriver (4).
Detach each electrical spindle drive (1) for right tailgate from ball hub and remove.

Release wiring harness (1) from the hinge arm (arrows) and set it aside.

Loosen nuts (1).
Remove tailgate hinge (2) downwards.
