Replace Trunk Lid
Remounting the install parts of the trunk lid
- Remount the clips (1).
- Remount sheet metal nuts (1).
- Loosen screw (1).
- Unclip the bracket at the marked locations (arrows).
- Feed out the antenna wire (2).
- Feed in the antenna wire (2) on the new trunk lid and route without kinks.
- Clip in the bracket on the new trunk lid at the marked areas (arrows).
- Tighten down screw (1).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Antenna wire to trunk lid Oval-head screw Tightening torque 3 Nm - Unlock plug connection (1) and disconnect.
- Release the screw (2) and remove the emergency GSM antenna (3).
- Position the emergency GSM antenna (3) in the new trunk lid and tighten the screw (2).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Emergency GSM antenna to trunk lid Oval-head screw for thermoplastic Tightening torque 3 Nm - Connect connectors (1) and lock.
- Unlock and disconnect plug connections (1).
- Release the screw (2) and remove the antenna amplifier (3).
- Position the antenna amplifier (3) on the new trunk lid and tighten the screw (2).TIGHTENING TORQUES SPECIFICATION
Antenna amplifier on trunk lid Oval-head screw M5x16 Tightening torque 4 Nm - Connect connectors (1) and lock.NOTE: Perform the steps on the right and left side.
- Push through the pins (1) of the stop pad (2) and remove the stop pad (2).
- Mount the stop pad (2) to the new trunk lid.
- Drive in the pins (1) of the stop pad (2) until they are flush.
Install the gutter strip for the trunk lid
- Center the gutter strip for the trunk lid (1).
- Use the centered gutter strip for the trunk lid (1) to mark the start of the adhesive bond on the outside of the trunk lid (2).
- Fit the gutter strip for the trunk lid (1) at the mark for the start on the trunk lid (2) as shown.
- Route the center part of the gutter strip for the trunk lid (1) parallel to the edge (3) of the trunk lid (2) and fix temporarily with adhesive tape.
- Gradually pull off the protective film for the gutter strip (1).
- Check the position of the gutter strip for the trunk lid (1) and correct where required.
- Adhesive bond the gutter strip for the trunk lid (1) without overstretching or compression along the edge (3) of the trunk lid (2).
- Always press on the gutter strip for the trunk lid (1) perpendicular to the bonding surface.
