Removing Panorama Glass Roof

Adhere to the following basic procedures:
Starting at the front right, heat the bonded connection (1) section by section and detach.
Comply with the detailed procedure in the following work steps.

Mechanical effects .
Paint damage .
- Mask those working areas at risk with yellow plastic adhesive tape.
- Remove and install heavy or bulky components with the aid of another person/other persons.

Protect area (1) of the side frame against damage by covering with plastic adhesive tape.
CONSUMABLE SPECIFICATION

Yellow plastic adhesive tape 83199410979
Briefly heat the front right section (2) of the panorama glass roof with a butane gas flame, detach from roof frame, and bend approx. 90° upwards.
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Careless handling of tools and sharp-edged components .
Scratches, surface damage .
- Protect working area.
- Handle tools and components carefully.

Attach the puller claw (1) to the metal section and connect to lifting gear (workshop crane).
With the puller claw (1) and lifting gear, carefully establish pulling tension between the panorama glass roof and body in the direction of the arrow.
CAUTION:
Vapors and gases when unsticking bonded connections .
Hazardous to health!
- Extract vapors and gases.
- Ensure adequate ventilation.
- Conduct all work in appropriate personal protective equipment only.

NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Damage to body components .
Excessive influence of heat can cause damage to body components .
- Avoid excessive heat input on body components.
- Only heat the bonding surface briefly.
Briefly heat the bonded connection (2) with a butane gas flame (3) until the adhesive is stripped away and detach.
Heat the next section until the panorama glass roof is detached.
NOTE:
RISK OF DAMAGE
Heavy component .
Heavy components can lead to injury or damage .
- Remove and install heavy components with the aid of another person/other persons.

Reapply the lifting gear (1) and briefly heat the next adhesive section.
Repeat procedure until the panorama glass roof is completely detached.
Immediately after detaching, engage the help of others to secure the panorama glass against swinging back and forth in an uncontrolled manner.
