Removing The B-Pillar Reinforcement

Mark and perform the separating cuts (1) to (3) according to the specified dimensions.
Thereby disconnect only the outer panel.

Dimension a = 310 mm from the center of the screw attachment.

Dimension b = 100 mm from the center of the screw attachment.

Dimension c = 20 mm from the component edge of the roof frame.

Open the welded connections in areas (1) and remove the metal section (2).

Remove cavity sealings (1) to (3).

Release welded connections in areas (1).
Detach the reinforcement of the B-pillar from the cavity sealing (2) and remove.

Release bonded rivet connections in the areas (1) and (2).
Fully drill through the panels on the spot-welds with a drill '0 10 mm.

NOTE: The new part is MAG welded in areas 1 and 2 from the inner.
Remove the reinforcement tube (3) together with the cavity sealing (4).
