Installing The A-Pillar With Reinforcement

Use only approved spot welder for repair.

Apply sealant D1 to cavity sealing (1).
CONSUMABLE SPECIFICATION

Sealant D1 (seam sealing) 310ml 83422409985

Install cavity sealing (1) in the new part.
Apply sealant D1 to cavity sealing (1).
Adjust the new part using an alignment bracket or a universal fixture and secure it.
Weld new part in the areas (2) and (3) as per the new part preparation process.

Weld the areas (1) to (3) according to the new part preparation process.
Set the repair spot-weld on the production spot-weld in the area (3).
Mind the bonded connections located behind it in area (4).

In the areas (2), set the repair spot-welds on the production spot-welds.
Mind the bonded connections located behind it in areas (3).

Install the new part crash reinforcement and weld it in areas (1) as per the new part preparation processes.
Install the reinforcement plate (3) and weld.

Fit cavity sealings (1).
Apply sealant D1 to the cavity sealing elements (1).
Install the new part outer shell of the A-pillar and the reinforcement plates.
Weld the new part and the reinforcement plates in the areas (2) and (3) according to the new part preparation process.
