54 34 100 Adjusting soft top (8' series convertible models)
Special tools required:
- 54 3 000
During adjustment, soft top fins must be vertical.
Soft top is not bolted down during adjustment.
The soft top can be adjusted in three directions: up and down, back to front, side to side.
The soft top is connected to the body at both main soft top bearings, each with three connector nuts and one adjuster nut.

To adjust the soft top, all adjustment and attachment nuts on the soft top bearings must be loosened and their washers removed.
To adjust the soft top up and down, turn the banjo bolts. The banjo bolts have an outer thread and can be driven into the main soft top bearing using special tool 54 3 000 . Turn clockwise to raise the soft top; turn counter-clockwise to lower it.
Lastly, the soft top's adjustment to the cowl panel must be checked. The left and right guide pins should insert into the center of the guide bushings. If this is not possible, the entire soft top must be adjusted accordingly.
Height adjustment:
Turn the adjustment sleeves (1) to adjust the height with special tool 54 3 000 .

- Rotate left = lower soft top
- Rotate right = raise soft top
Lengthwise and crosswise adjustment:
The elongated holes on the main bearing allow for the soft top to be adjusted lengthwise and crosswise.
Gap dimension = 3 ±2 mm
To secure the soft top after adjusting:
Counter the inner screw and tighten adjuster nut (1).
Attention!
Before function test is performed, bolt down soft top and adjust side panels.
