Installing the steering column switch cluster (SZL)
- For replacement:
Break off the transportation retainer (1) on the steering column switch cluster (SZL) (2) in arrow direction.
The broken off piece (3) of the transportation retainer (1) remains in the steering column switch cluster (SZL) (2).
- Connect the connector (1) with the steering column switch cluster (SZL) (2).
Check:
- Version A:
Check if the correct mark (1) is visible in the inspection glass (2).
Result:
» No or an incorrect mark (1) is visible in the inspection glass (2).
Measure:
- Turn the coil spring cassette until the correct mark (1) is visible in the inspection glass (2).
Check:
- Version A:
Check that the correct marking (1) is visible in the inspection glass (2).
Result:
» The correct mark (1) is visible in the inspection glass (2).
Measure:
- Continue with the next step.
Check:
- Version B:
Check if the correct mark (1) is visible in the inspection glass (2).
Result:
» No or an incorrect mark (1) is visible in the inspection glass (2).
Measure:
- Turn the coil spring cassette until the correct mark (1) is visible in the inspection glass (2).
Check:
- Version B:
Check if the correct mark (1) can be seen in the viewing window (2).
Result:
» The correct mark (1) is visible in the inspection glass (2).
Measure:
- Continue with the next step.
- Position the steering column switch cluster (SZL) (2).
- Tighten down screws (1).
