Replacing the seal on rear door

Pull the seal (1) off of the door, beginning in the area (A).

Remove the seal plug (1).

Clean the bonding surface on the inner door panel with adhesive remover (sourcing reference: BMW Group parts sales).
If necessary, detach the pre-cut cutouts (2) for the screws and openings from the template (1).
Before adhering, align template (1) on the inner door panel (2).
The edge of the template (1) must run parallel to the bending radius of the inner door panel (2).

The markings and cutouts (3) of the template (1) must match with the corresponding bore hole of the inner door panel (2).

Guide in the seal (1) below the window channel strip (2) and position on the template (3).

Position seal (1) along the template (3).
The seal (1) must be on the mark (4) (arrow) of the template (3).
Bond the seal (1) as follows:
Detach protective film (2) step by step.

Correspondingly, align seal (1) on template (3) and gently press it on.

Check the position of the seal (1) and correct if necessary.

Position seal (1) without stretching or compressing it.

Always apply pressure perpendicular to the bonding surface to affix the seal (1).

Affix seal (1) with firm thumb pressure.
