Remove the acoustic cover of the oil sump

- Secure the vehicle hoist against lowering and lifting.
- Make sure that the vehicle does not lift off the mounting plates on the vehicle lift.

- Make sure that there is no charger connected to the jump start terminal in the engine compartment.
- Detach battery ground lead from battery.
- For auxiliary batteries: Detach battery minus cables from all auxiliary batteries.

- Detach battery terminal from battery pole by carefully shifting to and fro. Do not pry off using a tool.

Precondition
Disconnect all negative battery cables.
- Unlock and release the plug connection (1).
- Loosen nut (2).
- Guide the positive battery cable (3) out of the clamp (4) and lay to one side.
- Unlock and loosen the clamps (1).
- Guide out the wiring harness section for the automatic transmission (2) and set it aside.NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- Loosen screw (1).NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- Loosen the holder (1).NOTE: The following step(s) must be performed if the listed component(s) is/are installed.
- Feed out the transmission oil lines (1) from the holder (2) and place to one side.
- Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
- Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
- Loosen the expanding rivet (1).
- Undo Christmas tree clip (2).
- Guide out and remove acoustic cover (1) of the oil pan.
