- Secure the vehicle hoist against lowering and lifting.
- Make sure that the vehicle does not lift off the mounting plates on the vehicle lift.

Screws of the left intake plenum
- Unlock the clamp (1)
.
- Unlock plug connection (1)
and disconnect.
- Unlock the locks (1) in the direction of the arrow.
- Disconnect the transmission oil lines (2) .
- Catch and dispose of the leakage transmission oil.
- Release the belt tensioner (2)
clockwise with a suitable socket wrench (1)
.
- Maintain the preload of the belt tensioner (1) using a suitable socket wrench (3) .
- Secure the belt tensioner (1)
against rotation, using a special tool 0 496 268 (11 0 390) (2)
.
- Unlock and disconnect the tank vent line (1) .
- Unlock plug connection (2)
and disconnect.
- Remove the drive belt (1) from the belt pulley (2) of the air conditioning compressor (5) and put it aside.
- Unlock plug connection (3) and disconnect.
- Loosen screws (4) .
- Detach the air conditioning compressor (5)
and protect it from falling.
- Release the wiring harness mountings (1)
.
- Loosen screws (1) .
- Loosen screws (2) .
- Guide out the left intake plenum and remove.
